⚾️ The road to Omaha ran through Hoover.

Five of the eight teams that reached the 2025 College World Series competed in Hoover during the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament.

Every May, the nation’s best programs battle it out at the Hoover Met. This year, five of those teams advanced all the way to college baseball’s biggest stage.

🎶 Well, that was fast… 🇺🇸

We hadn’t even officially announced our USO Swing Dance at the Hoover Senior Center / Hoover New Horizons on July 2, and it’s already SOLD OUT!

The excitement for this patriotic evening of live music, dancing, and vintage-inspired fun has been incredible. Thank you to everyone who registered and helped make this event an instant success.

If you missed out, don’t worry—there are plenty of great events coming up this summer. Keep an eye on our channels for announcements, because if this is any indication, you’ll want to act quickly!

We’ll see our lucky attendees on the dance floor July 2. 💃🕺✨

As America approaches its 250th birthday, the City of Hoover is proud to join the statewide America250AL celebration with Hoover Salutes 250 — a community-wide initiative honoring our nation’s history, heritage, and future.

Throughout the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out information on a variety of special events and programs happening across Hoover as we celebrate this historic milestone together. From family-friendly activities and community gatherings to patriotic traditions, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the highlights will be our newly rebranded 4th on the First fireworks celebration, bringing an exciting new look to one of Hoover’s favorite 4th of July holiday traditions.

Stay tuned for announcements, event details, and ways to get involved as we count down to America’s 250th birthday. Together, Hoover Salutes 250!

Hoover’s heart is heavy today. We extend our deepest condolences to the Higginbotham family and all those grieving the loss of Weston Higginbotham. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Like so many in our community, Stephanie and I are heartbroken at the news of Weston Higginbotham’s passing.

Weston was a young man of remarkable character. A Hoover native, a Spain Park High School graduate, and an Auburn University student, he had a deep love for the outdoors and the world around him. He touched everyone who knew him. His loss is a tragedy felt across our entire community.

Over the past several days, Hoover residents came together in prayer and hope for Weston’s safe return. Today, our hearts are with the Higginbotham family as they face an unimaginable loss.

On behalf of the City of Hoover, I extend our deepest condolences to Keith, Nancy, Grayton, and all of Weston’s family and friends. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead.
