Yesterday, the Hoover Randle Home & Gardens hosted the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau on its Destinations Tour. Representatives from area hotels, restaurants, and venues enjoyed lunch from Urban Cookhouse, explored the gardens, and toured the historic home.

That's just one way to experience the property. The house suits showers, meetings, and small receptions, while the gardens set the scene for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and company lunches. Many events use both. Whatever you're planning, we'll help shape the space around it.

Got a stack of old paperwork you’ve been meaning to get rid of? Here’s your chance!

Community Shred Day is coming up Friday, September 18, at the Hoover Public Library. Stop by anytime between 8 a.m. and noon and we’ll help you safely get rid of those old bills, statements and other documents you don’t need anymore.

You can bring up to six banker-sized boxes.

We’re glad to once again partner with Gone for Good and United Ability to offer this service to our community.

Clean out those drawers, closets and filing cabinets, and come see us on the 26th!

Water service has been restored at Lorna Place Apartments after the property’s ownership made a substantial payment toward its delinquent account.

The city’s work on this issue is not over. Hoover (AL) Police Department’s investigation into the circumstances surrounding the unpaid water bill remains active, and city officials are conducting a broader review of the property to ensure it is meeting applicable requirements.

The City of Hoover is grateful to the police officers, firefighters, city employees, Hoover Helps, local churches, and volunteers who stepped in to provide water and assistance to residents while service was unavailable.

This weekend, our Hoover community came together at the Riverchase Galleria to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Police Chief Clay Morris, Fire Chief Clay Bentley and others shared a few words as we took time to reflect on the bravery, sacrifice and service shown that day.

After the ceremony, first responders and community members joined the Climb to Remember, climbing the equivalent of 110 stories in honor of those who answered the call 25 years ago.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we remembered together. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🚨 Pool Closure Notice

The Hoover Recreation Center pool is currently closed due to a pump failure. Without proper circulation, we’re unable to safely keep the pool open.

The good news is that the replacement motor has already been ordered, and our goal is to reopen the pool by Friday.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience! We’ll share an update as soon as the pool is ready to reopen. 🏊

Hear it straight from Miss Hoover's Teen 2027.

Cambree Crumpton is an ambassador for Alabama Lions Sight, and through her platform Cam's Cause: A Vision for All, she's collecting used prescription eyeglasses to be refurbished for people who need them.

📍 Drop off through December at:

Check your drawers. That old pair could help someone see clearly again. 🔊 Sound on.
