We recently hosted our volunteers, Hood River Shelter Meals Program partners, and other supporters for an appreciation celebration at the Hood River Shelter.

These individuals, businesses, and community partners are an incredible example of giving together toward a future where everyone in our community has a safe and stable place to call home.

Thank you again to all who attended and to all our supporters who continue to give their time and resources to make our work possible!

We are so grateful to all the restaurants and meal partners that made this year's Hood River Shelter Meals Program possible!

For years, many of these restaurants have contributed their time and resources to feed unhoused community members living at the Hood River Shelter.

These partners and the food runner volunteers ensure that guests staying at the shelter never go hungry and are provided the warmth and comfort of a handmade meal each day.

Thank you, partners, for your amazing service to the Hood River Shelter!

With the Hood River Shelter season coming to a close yesterday, we are so grateful to Hood River Rotary Club for their amazing gift of individualized care packages for clients leaving the shelter.

Each bag contained personal items based on each guest's size and need.

We are so grateful for all the ways our community walks alongside MCCAC to support our unhoused neighbors. Community collaboration makes our work possible!

With the Hood River Shelter closing for the season on Tues, Mar 24, the last day to drop off donations for the shelter will be Tues, Mar 17.

Needed donations include:

❣ Sleeping bags
❣ Men's t-shirts
❣ Shelf-stable snacks

Donations can be dropped off on Tues, Mar 17 at HRV Christian Church (975 Indian Creek Rd) from 12-2pm.

Volunteers will be available to receive donations on Mar 17. Please do not leave items at the door or bring items to the church after this date.

We are so grateful for our community's support for our unhoused neighbors staying at the Hood River Shelter. The donations we receive at the HR Shelter Donation Center make a real difference for guests and shelter operations.

The Hood River Shelter is preparing for the end of the shelter season. The HR Shelter typically operates from mid-November to mid-March and will be closing on Tues, Mar 24, 2026.

With support from City and County partners, and other human services organizations, MCCAC is continuing the search for a location to operate the Hood River Shelter year-round. This is a key goal for our agency.

The MCCAC team is working closely with guests to ensure the smoothest transition possible this season.

We will continue to offer basic needs supplies, including snacks, water, and clothing items, out of the Hood River office during current business hours: Mon to Thurs, 9am-12pm and 1-5pm AND The Gloria Center: Mon to Fri, 8am-12pm and 1-5pm.

The Hood River Shelter Donation Center is open on Tuesdays from 12-2pm at Hood River Valley Christian Church (975 Indian Creek Rd).

We are truly grateful to our local restaurants and Hood River Shelter Services Meals Program partners!

Please join us in thanking Pietro's Pizza for partnering with the Hood River Shelter again this season to provide meals to Hood River Shelter guests.

15 local restaurants and 1 local church work together with our team of volunteers to provide warm meals to the Hood River Shelter every night throughout the shelter season.
