Fire restrictions have been lifted on Mt. Hood National Forest. Cooler temps & longer nights have reduced fire risk, but vegetation is still quite dry out on the forest- please take care! If your fire is too hot to touch with bare hands, it's too hot for you to leave.

Due to increased fire danger ALL County Forest trails will be closed to motorized (combustion engines) use effective 8 am Friday, September 9 until further notice.

This change is due to the forecast for an East Wind event starting Thursday evening and continuing through Saturday evening. These events bring dry conditions with low humidity and strong winds. East Wind events are associated with critical fire conditions, where fires can establish and grow quickly.

Absolutely NO CAMPFIRES are allowed. State law requires passenger vehicles to carry a shovel and a gallon of water to be fire safe in the woods.

Please help spread the word!
