The Village of Honor will hold a Public Hearing at the April 13, 2026 Village of Honor Council
Meeting to begin at 6 pm. This hearing will address the Village of Honor’s Michigan State Housing
Development Administration’s (MSHDA) MI Rehabilitation Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) Program application for $472,000 tentatively approved for funding through a MSHDA MI
Neighborhood CDBG Funding Designation Memorandum received and executed January 9, 2026.
The total amount includes $72,000 for administration and the remaining $400,000 will be utilized
for home rehabilitation. he application also requires an application supplement that will be
addressed at the above meeting as well. The anticipated application submission date will be April
17, 2026. The application and application supplement can be reviewed at the Village of Honor
administrative offices prior to the above meeting.
The MSHDA MI Neighborhood CDBG Program will provide funding for low-moderate Village of
Honor eligible home owners with an Average Household Median Income of 80% and less than the
Village of Honor’s Average Household Median Income of $45,341 or $36,273. Eligible home owners
can apply for home repairs to include the following activities; roofing, siding, windows, doors, trim,
electrical, plumbing, flooring, and appliances meeting noncompliance with building and safety
codes. No cosmetic repairs or demolition will be eligible. Zero persons are anticipated to be
displaced by the CDBG proposed activities. 100% of this funding will benefit low-moderate income
households in the Village of Honor.
The Village of Honor has never received Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds before
and this program will aid in addressing blight and unsafe housing in our community.
