| Clarity at the Edge 🌐

A recap of AFCEA Hawaiʻi and the Hawaii Signal Corps Regimental Association’s luncheon during Pacific Signal Regimental Week 2026.

The discussion brought together military, government, industry, and community partners to address challenges across the Indo-Pacific, including data movement, interoperability, resilient communications, and decision advantage at the tactical edge.

Maj. Andrew Patton, 3rd Multi-Domain Task Force, and Chief Warrant Officer 5 Yrume Fernandez, U.S. Army Pacific, shared perspectives on enabling commanders with the right data, at the right place, and at the right time.

Prayer Breakfast 🙏

During Pacific Signal Week 2026, Signaleers gathered Sept. 15 to pause and reflect at the Prayer Breakfast in the Nehelani Ballroom at Schofield Barracks. 🙏 The 311th Signal Command (Theater) hosted the event under the theme “The Theater Voice.”

Chaplain (Col.) J.P. Smith served as keynote speaker, reminding Soldiers and leaders that communication is more than technology. It is about connection, trust and people across the vast distances of the Pacific.

Brig. Gen. Tonri Brown, commanding general of the Theater Army Signal Command for the Pacific, presented Smith with a handmade wooden flag featuring the Hawaiian Islands and a radio handset, in gratitude for his leadership and moral guidance in strengthening the connection and readiness of the Theater Voice.

♟️ Chess Tournament + Golf ⛳️ 🏌️‍♂️

From the board to the back nine, the competition kept going. ♟️ Warrant Officer Matthew Washington of the Regional Cyber Center-Pacific hosted the annual chess tournament at the Tropic Lightning Museum, where Soldiers and civilians matched wits one move at a time.

Others took the competition outdoors with a few rounds at Klipper Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, with ocean views that are hard to beat. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Paint and Sip + Motorcycle Ride 📣

Pacific Signal Week isn’t just for Soldiers! 🎨

Signaleers traded keyboards for paintbrushes! 🎨 Soldiers, civilians and spouses came together for Paint and Sip at Schofield Barracks. This year we planned an evening event so spouses could join in. Among the Signaleers showing off their work were Liana Kim, director of public affairs for the 311th Signal Command (Theater), and Shannon Pope, the command’s commercial business officer.

Then it was time to start the engines. 🏍 Signal riders met up at Schofield Barracks, looked over their bikes and rolled out together for a lap around Oahu. The ride doubled as a check ride, giving riders a chance to sharpen their skills, look out for one another on the road and build camaraderie with fellow Signaleers, all with the island’s coastline as the backdrop.
