🍓👩‍🍳🍽️ What a delicious first week in our Culinary Class at the COE Summer Programs!

Our young chefs rolled up their sleeves, put on their aprons, and jumped right into the exciting world of cooking. From learning essential kitchen safety practices and fundamental cooking techniques to exploring the science behind what happens when ingredients are mixed, heated, cooled, and transformed, students discovered that cooking is both an art and a science.

Throughout the week, our aspiring cooks explored how flavors develop, how textures change, and how chemistry plays a role in creating the foods we love. They also learned that every dish has a story. By discovering the cultural backgrounds and significance of the recipes they prepare, students gained a deeper appreciation for the ways food connects us to our families, communities, and traditions.

Beyond building practical life skills, our Culinary Class has been filled with teamwork, curiosity, creativity, and plenty of smiles. Whether measuring ingredients, trying something new, or proudly sharing their finished creations, these students have embraced every opportunity to learn and grow in the kitchen.

We can't wait to see what they'll cook up next! 🌟🥣📖✨

💃✨ The rhythm is alive in Let's Dance! at the COE Summer Programs!

Our dancers had an amazing first week stepping into the exciting world of movement, creativity, and self-expression. Through energizing warm-ups, imaginative improv activities, and beginner-friendly choreography, students explored what it means to move with confidence and joy.

As they learned the fundamentals of dance, our students also discovered important skills beyond the dance floor like developing spatial awareness, musicality, teamwork, and the courage to try something new. Whether creating solo pieces or collaborating with classmates, these young dancers are already transforming from performers into choreographers, using movement to tell stories and express their unique personalities.

One of the most inspiring parts of the week has been watching students support one another, celebrate each other's ideas, and gain confidence with every step, turn, and leap. The creativity and enthusiasm they've brought to class have been nothing short of incredible!

As the summer continues, they'll keep building their skills and designing original routines that reflect their imagination and individuality, all leading up to a special performance for family and friends. We can't wait to see these dancers shine on stage and share the amazing creations they've worked so hard to bring to life. 🌟🎶🩰

📸🎥📝 The stories are already unfolding in Little Journalists at the COE Summer Programs!

Our aspiring reporters, photographers, and filmmakers had an incredible first week discovering the power of storytelling. Through curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, students began exploring how to capture the moments and stories that matter most in their world.

From learning how to frame the perfect photograph and ask thoughtful interview questions to writing captions, planning scripts, and experimenting with video, our young journalists are building the skills needed to tell true, respectful, and meaningful stories. Along the way, they're also practicing important journalistic values like honesty, empathy, and kuleana (responsibility). That with every story shared comes the responsibility to represent others with care and integrity.
