Kids Hurt Too Hawaii

Kids Hurt Too Hawaii Nonprofit Kids Hurt Too Hawaii believes that a family’s hope for tomorrow lies in healing young hearts today. Grief is a natural reaction to that loss.

Parent loss is a heartbreaking event in a child’s life. A child needs a supportive and healing environment to nurture his or her broken heart. Kids Hurt Too Hawaii believes that all grieving children deserve a safe place to connect and heal.

Due to the projected stormy weather, the planning team for the Aloha ‘Ia ‘O Wai‘anae Fair—Wai‘anae Elementary, Kids Hurt Too Hawaiʻi, and the Nānākuli Complex Area—has made the decision to prioritize everyone’s safety and reschedule the event.

We know how much heart and effort our community partners and vendors put into engaging with our families, and we want to ensure the strong turnout and joyful experience this event deserves. Because rain can impact attendance and safety, we believe moving the event is the best choice for our community.

New Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2026
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Mahalo for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone come together for a wonderful evening celebrating our Wai‘anae community.

What a beautiful day at Ke Nui Fest!

Kids Hurt Too was honored to set out our Konane boards and share this traditional Hawaiian game with keiki, ʻohana, and kupuna. It was so special watching all ages gather together, learn, laugh, and connect through culture.

A big mahalo to Ke Nui Festival for creating space to celebrate and embrace Hawaiian activities and community.

We were also grateful to partner alongside Hawaii Flower Lei, who led a wonderful lei-making activity next to us. Seeing participants create their own lei while others played Konane made the day even more meaningful.

Mahalo, Hawaii Flower Lei, for being such a great partner and for helping make the day so special. 💛

Surf for the Soul this past Sunday, January 18th at Puaʻena Beach Park was everything we hoped for and more.

The keiki were all smiles—laughing, surfing, and soaking up the joy of the ocean. Seeing their confidence grow and their faces light up reminded us why this day matters so much.

We are deeply grateful to Lyndie Irons and the Andy Irons Foundation for always standing beside us and believing in this work. Mahalo to the Billabong surfers who came out to teach our kids how to surf and, more importantly, showed them that there are people who truly care.

A huge mahalo to Seven Brothers for feeding everyone with their amazing burgers, and to Uncle Bryan’s Surf School for providing boards, guidance, and keeping ocean safety at the heart of the day. Mahalo to Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies for being on site and taking care of all our health and first aid needs, and to Hawaii Flower Lei for the beautiful lei shared with our mentors and organizers.

Our hearts are full. Mahalo to everyone who showed up with love, time, and aloha. This is community. This is Surf for the Soul

A child is a child.
Not a label. Not a debate. Not a talking point.

Every keiki deserves safety, dignity, and care.

Pain doesn’t check identity, and neither do we.

No child should ever hurt alone.
