For Steve Walsh, asking for help managing his finances was an important step forward.

Steve first connected with Helping Hands Hawai‘i nearly 20 years ago, during a time when he was struggling with drug and alcohol use. Knowing he needed support, he asked the VA to have someone help manage his finances.

Today, Steve continues to use Helping Hands Hawai‘i’s Representative Payee Services for most of his financial needs and says having that support reassures him.
