University of Hawaii Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders As a part of the John A. Burns School of Medicine, our department is housed within the University of Hawai‘i System. Burns School of Medicine in Kaka’ako.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers one degree option: A Master of Science degree in CSD (emphasis in speech-language pathology). We are currently located in a professional building adjacent to the John A. We have a modern clinic with four clinical training rooms, complete with a state of the art audio-visual monitoring system. We also have an audiology suite, compl

ete with a brand new sound booth and audiometers. The favorable faculty to student ratio enhances the students’ experience and training as they prepare for their professional careers. University of Hawai‘i CSD graduates can be found globally, throughout the Pacific Basin and Asia, including Belau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand; across the Continental U.S., through the Caribbean and Europe and India. We are a quality partner in the drive to provide Hawai‘i’s people with quality in education, clinical services, and research.
