Brain Injury Association of Hawaii Vice President Dr. Violet Horvath and Executive Director BJ Wade represented the organization at the ADA Advocacy & Vendor Fair, held July 28, 2026, at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. The event provided an opportunity to connect attendees with brain injury resources, education, and community support services.

🌿 What a wonderful afternoon together!

Although the day began with a little rain, the skies cleared just in time for our Brain Injury Association of Hawaiʻi Support Group (BIOSG) July gathering at the beautiful Liliʻuokalani Botanical Garden in Honolulu.

During the summer months, BIOSG enjoys meeting outdoors to connect with one another, recharge in nature, and strengthen the friendships and support that make our community so special. Sharing laughter, conversation, and time together reminds us that healing is not a journey we take alone.

🌺 Did you know? Liliʻuokalani Botanical Garden is one of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens and is known for its collection of native Hawaiian plants. Nestled in the lush Nuʻuanu Valley, it provides a peaceful setting to relax, reflect, and reconnect with nature.

Today, the Brain Injury Association of Hawaiʻi Support Group (BIOSG) is grateful to be joined by Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc. as they present and share about the impact of music therapy in our community. 🎶🤍

Founded in 2002, Sounding Joy Music Therapy is a Hawaiʻi-based 501(c)(3) organization providing music therapy services and support across the islands. We appreciate the opportunity to learn more about their work and the ways music can support healing, connection, wellness, and quality of life.

🌺 Wrapping Up Brain Injury Awareness Month with Heart 💙

This past Saturday, March 28, our community gathered for a meaningful and joy-filled morning hosted by the Brain Injury Association of Hawaii (BIOSG) in collaboration with the Leeward Pilot Club.

Held at Catholic Charities Hawaii, the final Brain Injury Awareness Month support group meeting of Oʻahu brought together participants for connection, laughter, and uplifting moments. From charades and bingo to shared stories and smiles, the space was filled with warmth, encouragement, and true community spirit.

Events like these remind us of the importance of showing up for one another and creating safe, joyful spaces where healing, awareness, and support can thrive.

Mahalo to everyone who participated and helped make this gathering so special. Let’s continue to uplift, educate, and stand together 💙
