Central Middle School Central Middle School - Onipa'a: Faithful; Resilient; Trustworthy CMS currently serves 407 students in grades 6 – 8.

Located in downtown Honolulu, Central Middle School (CMS) sits on a property filled with rich Hawaiian history. Students from five surrounding elementary schools feed into CMS: Ka’uilani, Likelike, Kauluwela, Royal, and Ka’ahumanu. Students come from diverse backgrounds, which for most students English is not the primary language spoken at home. We believe the key to high academic achievement are

powerful instructional practices in the classroom, strong relationships between and amongst all of our stakeholders, Rigor and Relevance in our existing curriculum, and a plethora of learning opportunities to prepare students for high school and ultimately college and career ready.

What an incredible start to the 2026–2027 school year! 🎉

We kicked off the year with meaningful team-building, plenty of laughter, and, of course, some seriously ono grinds! 🌮🥪🍣🍜🌭🥤 From walking tacos and sub sandwiches to a sushi and ramen bar, chili frank plates, and slush floats, we made sure everyone felt welcomed and appreciated.

The energy, positivity, and commitment of our Bulldog family has us excited for everything this year has in store. Here's to a year filled with growth, opportunities, success, and unforgettable memories. Thanks coach Noa for joining us.
