Central Middle School

Central Middle School Central Middle School - Onipa'a: Faithful; Resilient; Trustworthy CMS currently serves 407 students in grades 6 – 8.

Located in downtown Honolulu, Central Middle School (CMS) sits on a property filled with rich Hawaiian history. Students from five surrounding elementary schools feed into CMS: Ka’uilani, Likelike, Kauluwela, Royal, and Ka’ahumanu. Students come from diverse backgrounds, which for most students English is not the primary language spoken at home. We believe the key to high academic achievement are powerful instructional practices in the classroom, strong relationships between and amongst all of our stakeholders, Rigor and Relevance in our existing curriculum, and a plethora of learning opportunities to prepare students for high school and ultimately college and career ready.
