A strong interview starts long before the camera starts rolling. 🎥

Members of the Keʻehi Memorial Organization returned to ʻŌlelo for another hands-on session focused on building their interviewing skills.

Participants learned the fundamentals of conducting on-camera interviews, from developing thoughtful questions to framing, capturing clear audio and building confidence on camera.

Educators, are you looking for a hands-on professional development opportunity?

Join ʻŌlelo Community Media for a two-day workshop focused on the foundations of professional video editing with DaVinci Resolve.

You’ll build practical skills you can bring back to your classroom or school community—whether you want to create engaging learning resources, support student projects, share school stories, or strengthen your digital storytelling skills.

📅 September 10–11
🕘 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
📍 1122 Māpunapuna Street

The workshop is open to teachers of all grade levels, as well as technical, administrative, and instructional staff working in education.

No prior editing experience is needed. MacBooks with DaVinci Resolve will be provided, so you’ll have everything you need to follow along and start editing.

ʻŌlelo Community Media and the Hawaiian Music Archives proudly celebrated the launch of ʻŌlelo Oral Histories: The ʻUkulele Series - "A Kuleana to Our Kūpuna and Keiki" at Koʻolau Ballrooms.

Mahalo to everyone who joined us in celebrating the musicians, cultural practitioners, partners, and supporters whose passion and dedication made this series possible. Together, we're helping preserve the stories, music, and traditions that define Hawaiʻi's rich cultural heritage.

Featuring Jake Shimabukuro, Casey Kamaka, Dr. Byron Yasui, Bryan Tolentino, David Kekoamanawaleʻa Woodward, Shawn Yacavone, and Adam Jansen, the pilot explores how the ʻukulele became a symbol of Hawaiʻi while highlighting the importance of preserving the stories, music, and memories that connect generations.
