Hawaiʻi's rich culture reflects people of nations from around the world. A short film by Rachel, "ICE Melts in Hawaiʻi," highlights one issue that has had an impact on immigrant communities across Hawaiʻi. A group of passionate high school students chose to raise awareness through an organized, peaceful protest. View the short film on our YouTube channel.

Isabella, through a short film, "Dedicated to Ms. V," honored a teacher who supported her though her academic journey. Teachers, like Ms. V, make it possible for all students to learn and participate more fully. Mahalo nui loa, many thanks, to all the teacher who help us along the way.

A rare cultural tradition comes to Hawaiʻi audiences this weekend.

When Yabusame Hawaii at Kualoa Ranch airs, viewers will experience more than the art of traditional Japanese horseback archery. They'll have the opportunity to witness a unique cultural practice. This is why community media matters.

By sharing events like Yabusame Hawaii, ʻŌlelo Community Media helps connect communities, preserve cultural traditions, and make meaningful local content accessible to audiences across Hawaiʻi and beyond. Not everyone can attend these special events, but everyone should have the opportunity to learn from and experience them.

Because when local stories are shared, communities grow stronger.
