VA Pacific Islands Health Care System proudly celebrates U.S. Navy Veteran Mr. Soo Pok Park on his 101st birthday!
Mr. Park served our Nation during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His extraordinary life and military service reflect a remarkable legacy of patriotism, sacrifice, and dedication to our Nation.
In recognition of this incredible milestone, Mr. Park received a birthday letter signed by VA Secretary Doug Collins, along with Secretary Collins’ official challenge coin as a token of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ gratitude and appreciation for his service.
We are honored to celebrate Mr. Park and recognize the sacrifices he and his generation made in defense of our freedom and democracy.
Happy 101st birthday, Mr. Park! Thank you for your service to our Nation.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs gave the state Department of Defense a $6.1 million grant intended to restore gravesites at the East Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery (No. 2).
Maj. Jeff Hickman, Public Affairs Director for the DOD, told Aloha State Daily that the project will realign 4,495 grave markers at the cemetery, making all headstones uniform in height and spacing. It will also grade some 5.5 acres of land, rehabilitate the soil and turf, and install new markers and flower watering stations throughout the cemetery.

This December 7th marks 85 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor, a day that forever changed Hawaiʻi, our nation, and the lives of those who experienced it.
As we prepare to gather in remembrance, individuals, families, veterans, and organizations are invited to honor those who served and sacrificed with a remembrance wreath displayed during one of this year’s commemorative ceremonies.
Wreaths may be placed at:
• Pearl Harbor National Memorial (Main Ceremony)
• USS Oklahoma Ceremony
• USS Utah Ceremony
• USS Nevada Ceremony
• Hickam Field
Created by local Hawaiʻi florists, each 22-inch wreath can be personalized with a ribbon color and inscription of your choice.
Whether recognizing a loved one, honoring a veteran, or representing an organization, your wreath will help commemorate this historic milestone.

Wing D: Designated accessible entrance for patients and visitors requiring wheelchair or mobility assistance.
Wing E: Single-door entrance without automatic door accessibility.
