Tropical Depression Moke continues to weaken and is forecast to dissipate on Tuesday, but a Flood Watch remains in effect for the Big Island through 6 PM today.

Power outages can be stressful; don’t forget about generator safety. Always operate generators outdoors, keep them dry, use outdoor-rated extension cords, and never connect one directly to a household outlet. Stay alert. Stay safe.

Hawaiʻi state agencies remain ready to respond to Tropical Storm Moke and support county emergency response efforts, especially in Kaʻū. The storm will pass south of the islands but still bring significant rain to Hawaiʻi Island, with five to 10 inches of rain predicted.

Operation TREK808 is now active. It is a logistics and relief mission using C-17 military aircraft to transport critical recovery equipment and supplies to Hawaiʻi Island in anticipation of severe weather impacts from Tropical Storm Moke.

At this time the Office of the Lieutenant Governor anticipates continuing regular operations during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45am-4:30pm, except for state holidays.
