Alert #2 is located on the East side of the Borough of Honesdale (Traceyville) and is 100% volunteer.

13 Ladder 2 participated in the Fireman's Parade at the Jessup Hose Co. 2 Carnival this evening and is pleased to announce the “Judges' #1 Award” recipient for 2026 was awarded to the Sutphen Ladder truck from Honesdale's Alert Hook & Ladder Co. 2.

Rep. Jonathan Fritz ~ Weekly Round Up
"I stopped in to see the fine folks at Alert Hook and Ladder #2 last week to check out their new acquisition, a slightly used, very clean Sutphen Fire Truck. We are beyond lucky to have four fire companies in the central Wayne County region that are committed to protecting life and property. And all of them are volunteers! That’s a community that cares!

Furthermore, the Sutphen truck in the picture is made right here in Wayne County. Sutphen is the undisputed “Cadillac” of fire trucks. I am happy to support our fire companies through grant dollars and public protection programs.

Friends, I ask that we all go out of our way to support our local, all-volunteer firefighters.

We would be in a seriously bad way without them!

We (the members of Alert #2) appreciate him taking time out of his busy schedule to attend our Open House, displaying our Sutphen Ladder SP70.

A heartfelt thank you to all who participated in our Open House, celebrating a wonderful day. A special thanks to Tubby’s Concessions, Creamworks Ice Cream Trailer & the Wayne County 911 Communications Mobile Trailer who came. We are grateful to the businesses that supported us with raffle basket donations. Ladies Auxiliary was also there with their hot pads and instant bingo. It also marked a significant occasion at the fire station of Alert Hook & Ladder #2, as Father Ryan of Christ the King Pa (St. Thomas) visited the station to bless our New 13 Ladder 2. The blessing was a profound honor, and we extend our sincere gratitude to Pastor Cadle for taking the time to attend. Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation to Honesdale Mayor Williams as well as State Rep., Jonothan Fritz, for their presence at the event. Thanks to all!! 🙏

Even though it’s raining, our “Open House” is still on! Happening from 11:00am-3:00pm. Come meet our amazing volunteers and bring your kids to check out a fire truck up close. Take a seat inside where we respond to calls, take a tour of the fire station & meeting hall and explore over 50 raffle baskets donated by local businesses. Say hello to our #2 Ladies Auxiliary, and see firsthand how our volunteers dedicate their time to serving the community 24/7—We are never closed!
