To locate where coyotes are living in your neighborhood, you can try these methods:

1. Track sightings:

• Create a community log of coyote sightings, noting time and location
• Use this data to identify patterns and likely den areas

2. Look for signs:
• Tracks (paw prints) in mud or snow
• S**t (droppings) along trails or in open areas
• Tufts of fur caught on fences or bushes

3. Listen for howls and yips:
• Coyotes are often vocal at dawn and dusk
• Pay attention to the direction of these sounds

Protect your pets by following these essential steps:

1. Keep pets indoors, especially during dawn and dusk when coyotes are most active.

2. Never leave pets unattended outdoors, even in fenced yards.

3. Use bright lights and noise makers to scare off coyotes.

4. Remove outdoor food sources, including pet food and unsecured trash.

5. Trim bushes and remove brush to eliminate hiding spots.

Remember, coyotes typically hunt from sunset to sunrise, but they can adapt to urban environments and may be spotted during daylight hours.
