Get ready, Homewood! This weekend is an expanded farmers market from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. this Saturday, June 20. There will be over 50 stalls to visit on Martin Square and Chestnut Road!

Each week, the Homewood community has shown incredible support for the Farmers Market vendors. Be sure to arrive early to ensure you get all your favorites before they sell out!

Stop by the market's Village Hall Welcome Booth to grab some fun perks (while supplies last):

- Fun word puzzles and games— play to win a market-branded tote bag!*
- Free kids' coloring pages to keep the little ones entertained

PARKING: Chestnut Road will be closed between Dixie Highway and Martin Square. You may want to approach the market from Harwood Avenue. Parking is available in the Village Hall lot and Metra lot.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: DIXIE HIGHWAY NORTH VIADUCT PROJECT

We understand this project has involved several schedule changes, and we sincerely apologize for the continued uncertainty and inconvenience. We know many residents, businesses and commuters have been affected by the back and forth, and we appreciate your patience.

On Monday, June 15, the Village was notified by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) that Iroquois Paving will temporarily suspend work on the Dixie Highway North Viaduct project while NICOR relocates a utility that conflicts with the new storm sewer on the west side of the viaduct.

According to NICOR, utility relocation work is expected to begin after July 4 and, barring any unforeseen delays, be completed by the end of July. A formal detour will not be in place during this work. However, motorists should be aware that Dixie Highway may be reduced to one lane at times just west of the viaduct.

Please remember, this is an IDOT-led project, and while the Village is not managing the construction schedule, we will continue to share updates as information becomes available from IDOT, NICOR and the engineering project team.

See you tonight in Flossmoor!

Ps. The grass is a little wet, so please bring a chair!

After the storm, comes a rainbow! Join with Flossmoor, the Village of Homewood, Illinois and the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District at tonight's Pride Fest, 5-9 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair to enjoy the free concert (as the storm has left the park pretty damp)! Walk or pedal over -- if you drive, you'll find free event parking in the North & South Commuter Lots on the east side of the Flossmoor Road viaduct. Please note: Vardon Place at Western Avenue and the north end of Brassie Avenue up to Flossmoor Road will be closed to traffic beginning at 2 p.m.
