VFW Post 4127 Salutes the Civil Air Patrol! 🎖️✈️

Community, service, and leadership were front and center as Arrant-Smith VFW Post 4127 had the distinct honor of presenting the annual Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet Officer of the Year and Cadet Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year awards.

A special thank you to Past Post Commander Harry Pillot and Post Quartermaster Carlos Czeczotko for presenting these prestigious honors to two outstanding young leaders who represent the absolute best of the next generation.

Why does the VFW present these awards year after year? The bond between our organizations runs deep. Formed just before the United States entered World War II, the Civil Air Patrol was built by brave civilian aviators stepping up to protect the homeland. Today, as the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, CAP continues to save lives through emergency services and disaster relief.

The combat veterans of the VFW share a natural, unbreakable connection with these cadets. Though decades may separate our oldest veteran from the youngest cadet in the room, we are united by the exact same core values: Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence, and Respect.

While our veterans have "been there and done that," these cadets are stepping up to answer the call of tomorrow. When we look out at the CAP squadron, we don't just see youth—we see the future of the Total Force.

These cadets are building real-world discipline, studying aerospace, and learning how to lead under pressure while their peers are staying inside. The dedication they show today sets them miles ahead for the future, whether they choose a military uniform or a civilian career.

To this year's award recipients, wear these medals with pride. They aren't just ribbons; they are a token of utmost respect from the veterans in your community who know what it takes to serve. This isn't your finish line—it’s just fuel for the next milestone! 🚀

Please join us in congratulating these phenomenal cadets!
