Contest Rules:
Participant must be a youth hunter (17 years of age or younger)
Participants 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult
All entries must be tagged
Entries will be weighed/measured at the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office

High air temperatures and humidity will combine once again on Tuesday to push heat indices above 105 "Feels-Like" degrees by around lunch time, peaking near 109 degrees during maximum daytime heating in the afternoon.

🚍 Happy Back to School Claiborne Parish! Remember to slow down and stay alert in school zones. Let's keep our children safe this school year!

There are specific laws regarding when a driver must stop for a bus that is flashing red lights.

🛑 On a two-lane road, all vehicles in both directions must stop.
🛑 On a four-lane road with no median or other physical barrier between the lanes, all vehicles in both directions must stop.
🛑 On a three-lane road with a center turning lane, all vehicles in both directions must stop.
🛑 On a divided highway with a grass median or other physical barrier, vehicles moving in the same direction as the bus must stop; oncoming traffic should proceed with caution.
🛑 On a highway with a center turning lane with two travel lanes on each side, vehicles moving in the same direction as the bus must stop; oncoming traffic should proceed with caution.
