The Cortland County 911 Center will be at the CNY Living History Center Fire Truck & First Responder Show on Saturday, September 28th from 10:00- 3:00. There will be opportunities to interact with the 911 dispatchers that serve Cortland County. Community members will be able to ask questions, learn the daily operations, play games and win prizes! Cortland City Fire Department will be assisting with dispatchers to set up a 911 call station for kids to role play calling 911 for a house fire and the safety procedures of getting out of the house. Come and spend the day with a dispatcher!

The Village of Homer’s annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony will be on Wednesday, September 11th at 6pm at the 9/11 memorial next to the Homer Fire Department. This year the master of ceremony will be Gary McEuen (past Homer Fire Chief and US Air Force Veteran). The guest speaker will be Village of Homer Deputy Mayor Patrick Clune, (retired Lt Colonel US Army – veteran – War on Terror). The public is invited to attend the ceremony. In addition, the names of those lost on 9/11 will be on display throughout the day on September 11th.

Please join us for our annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. It is September 11th at 6:00 PM at the 9/11 memorial next to the Homer Fire Department.

The guest speaker will be Village of Homer Deputy Mayor Patrick Clune, (ret Lt Colonel US Army – veteran – War on Terror). This year’s ceremony is dedicated to Trooper Steve Bilodeau (ret), who recently passed away due to 9/11 related illness.

Refreshments will be served afterwards at the FD, courtesy of Homer Fire Department, Chief Riley. Please call 607-749-2028 with any questions.
