Traffic Alert - Commencing this Thursday, September 17th, NYSEG & DDS Companies will be working along North / South West St (Route 281) between Clinton St (Route 41) & Cayuga St (Route 90). The work is expected to last until the end of October. During the work, traffic will be condensed down to one lane. To avoid delays, please use an alternate route. Thanks.

Prescription drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved to be abused or illegally sold, or drugs flushed down toilets contaminate the water supply. Help prevent unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands or help save the environment. Take unwanted or expired medications to one of the Cortland County Drug Take Back locations on September 26, 2026.

Tonight: members of Homer, Cortlandville, Preble along with Homer Police, Cortland County Sheriff, NY State Police & the Boy Scouts (Troop 85) attended the 9/11 ceremony in the Village of Homer.
We will Never Forget... 🇺🇸

Officers with the Homer Police Department and members of the Homer Fire Department along with members from the Homer American Legion, will be holding the annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on September 11, 2026, at 6pm at the 9/11 Memorial next to the fire department.

The ceremony will honor all those who we lost on September 11, 2001, and those who we continually lose every day due to illnesses resulting from the attacks.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony.

Last night, Homer Fire Department had Extracation Training. The scenario was a 2 car MVA, with 1 vehicle through a building with confirmed entrapment.
