HALL OF FAME CEREMONY THIS FRIDAY AT HOMER HIGH SCHOOL!

Join us this Friday night as we honor six legendary Trojans during the Homer Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony! The celebration will take place at halftime of our varsity football game against Indian River at Butts Field.

Kickoff: 7:00 PM
Location: Butts Field at Homer High School

Please join us in celebrating our 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees:

• Coach Nancy Cavellier – Pioneering athlete and legendary tennis coach with over 450 total career wins and back-to-back Sectional titles.

• Jayden Gavidia ('15) – Standout three-sport star, Sectional champion in football, track state-record holder, and Alfred University standout.

• Justin Horner – The behind-the-scenes hero whose dedication and heart keep Homer Athletics running seamlessly every game day.

• Jacquee Parmiter ('03) – All-State soccer standout and Homer scoring record breaker who went on to set records at Division 1 St. Bonaventure.

• Sean Vormwald ('97) – Homer’s Male Athlete of the Year, single-season wrestling record holder, and three-sport team captain/MVP.

• Coach Jim Whidden – Key leader for Homer Football across 26 seasons, helping guide the Trojans to 149 wins, 9 division titles, and 5 Section III Championships.

A historic day and a victory for Trojan Volleyball!

On Saturday, September 5, Homer High School hosted the Sundown Showdown at Butts Field, marking the first-ever outdoor high school volleyball event in Section III history! The Trojans won their match 3-0 under the lights.

History is coming to Homer High School! On Saturday, September 5th, Homer Volleyball will host the SUNDOWN SHOWDOWN at Butts Field: the first-ever Section III outdoor volleyball event and only the third of its kind in New York State!

Four big Section III vs. Section IV matchups will take place throughout the day, closing out under the stadium lights as your Homer Trojans take on Newark Valley at 5:30 p.m.!

📅 Event Schedule:

🏐 10:00 AM: Cazenovia vs. Newfield

🏐 12:30 PM: Westhill vs. Windsor

🏐 3:00 PM: Skaneateles vs. Lansing

🏐 5:30 PM: Homer vs. Newark Valley

PLUS: Concessions, Music, Official T-Shirt Sales, and an unforgettable atmosphere for our athletes, families, and community!

Recently, several Homer students took part in an incredible Micron technology camp hosted at TC3, diving deep into chip technology and nanotechnology.

To cap off the experience, students toured Cornell’s Nanoscale Facility and the Sciencenter in Ithaca!

A huge thank you to Micron and TC3 for providing our students with such an extraordinary learning opportunity!
