Early Voting July/August 2024 Information ℹ

In November 2022, Michigan voters approved a constitutional amendment that gives voters the right to vote early and in person at early voting sites. Early voting allows a voter to cast a ballot before Election Day, in an experience similar to voting on Election Day. During the early voting period, voters are issued a ballot and can insert it directly into a tabulator at their early voting site.

Early voting for the Primary Election begins 📅 Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the 📍 Muskegon County Marquette Campus - The Student Center - 1903 Marquette Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442. All Muskegon County residents (excluding Holton Township and Dalton Township) are eligible to vote at the Muskegon County Marquette Campus. The Townships of Dalton and Holton have opted out of county-wide early voting and will provide their early voting options. The City of Muskegon will provide a polling location in addition to the Muskegon County Marquette Campus centralized polling location.

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself as I have committed to running for Trustee for Holton Township, for the 2024 election.

My roots run deep in the heart of Holton Township. Born and raised in this tight-knit community, I have always shown unwavering dedication to my hometown which has been a defining trait throughout my life.

I am a proud graduate of Holton High School, and my commitment to community was evident even throughout my teenage years. Voted "most likely to stay in Holton" in the senior year mock elections, I have embraced this label with pride, fueled by my profound love for the town and its people.

The values of community and service were instilled in me from an early age by my parents, the late Debra Cygeirt and Brian Cygeirt, as well as Gene & Michalle Lamb. I fondly recall witnessing my grandparents and great-grandparents exemplify what it means to be devoted supporters of Holton. I would like to thank my Great-Grandfather Severt Swenson for inspiring my own journey of civic engagement.

Throughout my adulthood, I have remained an active participant in the fabric of Holton's community life. My continued enthusiasm for hometown traditions is matched only by my tireless support for local sports teams, where you'll consistently find me cheering from the sidelines or volunteering my time to coach, organize, or “rally the troops” to encourage and support our youth.

In addition to my roles as a dedicated community member I am a wife of 19 years to my loving husband Chad and parent to two Holton graduates, Haylee and Carter. Carter is currently a senior at Holton High School, and Haylee is stationed in San Diego with her husband Hunter Younts, as they fulfill their duty to the United States Navy.

Recently I was afforded the honor to take on leadership responsibilities within the annual Holton Community Days celebration. From late night preparations for the annual family yard sales to traditional street games at Holton Days, I have countless memories from the community event. And now, serving as co-president since 2022, I have enjoyed playing a pivotal role in revitalizing the community event and fostering unity among residents with a shared vision of growth and progress.

Outside of my community involvement, I am a member of the Muskegon Covenant Academy team, where I serve as the Family Support Specialist. Working diligently with disengaged youth to prevent youth homelessness and youth incarceration. My passion for helping others extends to my role as co-owner of The Crazed Pixie, a local business known for providing apparel tailored to the needs of Red Devil fans and surrounding communities.

As a candidate for Holton Township Trustee, I feel I embody the spirit of service and dedication that defines the essence of Holton. With a proven track record of community leadership and a deep-seated commitment to the well-being of my hometown, I am poised to continue advocating for the interests of Holton residents with integrity and passion.

On Election Day, I urge you to cast your vote for Deanna Brant—with a promise from me to continue being a trusted advocate, a devoted community member, and a true warrior for Holton Township.
