Poppy recommends Freedom Celebration: A Juneteenth Party by Angela Dalton to read over the holiday.
The book tells the history of why we celebrate Juneteenth and shows you what a Juneteenth party might look like! Poppy still struggles a little with big words, so her favorite part was the page where it shows you exactly how to pronounce "e-man-suh-pay-shun prah-cluh-may-shun". She also loved seeing the family all together at the end in their matching shirts!
You can find Freedom Celebration on the Easy Reader shelves at the Holt library.
