Now that the weather is getting nicer, the libraries are seeing more and more people and we have a lot of new 4-legged visitors stopping by for a biscuit. We wanted to make it easier to grab a treat so we put a special box right on the post. Only one hand needed. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!

Our little free libraries have a seasonal addition. A "Letters To Santa" mailbox. If your child would like to send Santa a letter, feel free to have them drop them here. The kids library has several holiday and winter themed books in it and there are several new books in the grown up library as well. Some holiday pencils, candy canes and of course...the pup biscuits. Over the next few weeks, I will be wrapping brand new activity books and putting them in there. If anyone is in need of a simple present, feel free to grab one. We will do our best to keep the area clear of snow in front of the boxes and bench. Please use caution if you stop by and we haven't had a chance to clear it yet! Happy Turkey Day!! Gobble Gobble!

Last Thursday was the one year-mark since I lost my mom and also her birthday. She was the reason behind us starting the little libraries. I bought her a new book for her birthday as it was tradition. I bought them, she read them first (she read faster than I did). Watching everyone leave books and all kinds of great fun things, take books to read and all the pups that stop for treats helped me get through that day. I know she would have loved to watched the libraries had they been here when she was. Thank you to everyone for the support and contributions to our Storybook Angel Little Libraries. Oh and the book I bought her was the new book in the J.D. Robb series "Desperation in Death". If you aren't familiar with the 'in death' series, I highly recommend. It was our favorite!! J.D. Robb is the pseudonym for Nora Roberts.

I am a little late in posting, but we had a very generous donation at the end of last week. Tons of kids books, some cute Halloween bags, movies, a Wii game, Halloween pencils (this allowed me to fill my jar back up!!), crayons, flashcards and more. We also had some great grown-up book donations as well. Not sure from the same person or another but fantastic all around!! Thank you so much to everyone that has been donating to our little libraries. They bring us so much joy!

We have had several book donations over the last few weeks and I really like to acknowledge them. If you have donated books, a great big thank you!!! I try and check the libraries every day for new books but sometimes they may find a new home before I see them. Thank you to the generous people who have donated all of these great books. Keep them coming!

It is finally complete! The kids lending library is up and full of books! It is right by our other little library with enough room in between for the soon to come bench! I am hoping this is low enough to the ground for the littles in the neighborhood to reach in and grab their own book or to look through them.

Now that we have two boxes, donations are even more appreciated!

My husband is hard at work building what will be our new kids lending library. It will be right next to our current library and it will be just for the littles to be able to get their own books! Watch for updates!!
