In case you see a hydrant open in east Hollywood, just know the Department of Public Utilities is flushing lines. They are in the area of Hollywood Boulevard to Sheridan Street from Surf Road to 8th Ave.

Higher-than-normal tides are expected to return to South Florida.

While king tides are a natural occurrence caused by the moon's gravitational pull, they can contribute to localized flooding, especially in low-lying and coastal areas—even on sunny days.

📅 Upcoming East Coast King Tide Periods:
🌑 September 8–15
🌊 September 24 – October 15
🌊 October 22 – November 12 (highest predicted tides around October 27)
🌕 November 22–29
🌕 December 22–27

🚗 During king tides:
✔️ Allow extra travel time if you're heading to the beach or low-lying areas.
✔️ Never drive through flooded roadways.
✔️ Stay informed by monitoring local forecasts and conditions.

Reminder! From March 1 through October 31, Hollywood’s beaches become a vital nesting ground for endangered sea turtles.

To help protect these incredible creatures, we ask everyone to do their part:
✔ Keep beaches dark — turn off or shield bright lights at night
✔ Clear the way — remove chairs, umbrellas, and toys from the sand before sunset
✔ Respect nesting areas — avoid marked nests and dune vegetation
✔ No flash photography — lights can disorient nesting turtles and hatchlings

Let’s work together to keep our coastline safe for these amazing visitors. For more info, visit hollywoodfl.org

As more people come to enjoy our beautiful beaches and surrounding neighborhoods, I strongly encourage using our City’s transit options—smart, sustainable, and stress-free.

Here’s how you can get around during peak season:
✔️ Take advantage of the free Holly-Go community shuttle, which offers four color-coded routes connecting you to key spots across the city.
✔️ Use the Sun Shuttle (Powered by Circuit) for $2 rides around the city—you can request a ride via the “Ride Circuit” app.

These options help reduce traffic, make beach access easier, and give you more time to enjoy District 1. Learn more at hollywoodfl.org/transit
