The South Florida Regional Planning Council works with the Southeast Florida Community Development Fund, Inc., providing lending expertise, loan management, and administrative and staff support. Together with the Broward County Government Minority Builders Coalition, Incorporated we've partnered to build four new affordable, energy-efficient homes in City of Fort Lauderdale .

Each home offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms, ranging from 1,900 to 2,200 square feet, supporting first-time minority homebuyers through Broward County's in-fill lot development program.

It's been a great summer, and we hope you've all had a chance to relax and recharge. Fall is always a busy time as we resume our Council meetings and gear up for Blue Tech Jobs, our Joint Regional Conference with the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, next month.

Our August Clean Cities Coalition newsletter highlights Miami-Dade County Government's new Metro Express all-electric Bus Rapid Transit service and Florida Power & Light's 25-year record running a 4,000+ vehicle fleet on alternative fuels, along with a recap of our EV and Battery Energy Storage Systems Incident Response Training, which prepared 45 local first responders to safely manage EV, solar, and battery storage incidents. The South Florida Regional Planning Council is hiring for two finance positions: Finance Manager and Finance / BI Analyst.

The Finance Manager will oversee the Council’s financial planning, accounting, budgeting, audits, grants, internal controls, and reporting. The Finance / BI Analyst will support payroll, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, audits, grants, procurement, and Revolving Loan Fund reporting while developing and maintaining Power BI financial dashboards.

We are proud to announce that the South Florida Regional Planning Council has been recognized as a 2026 National Association of Development Organizations Aliceann Wohlbruck Impact Award recipient three times over, for our Affordable Housing Initiative, Regional Transit Oriented Development Initiative Economic and Community Benefits Study, and Resilient Infrastructure Benefit-Cost Analysis Framework.

The NADO Impact Awards celebrate projects and partnerships that strengthen communities through regional planning, economic growth, infrastructure investment, and more, recognizing organizations that are turning vision into action and delivering measurable results.
