We Remember. We Honor. We Thank You.
Holly Springs Junior High School held a First Responders Breakfast Thursday morning, Sept. 10, in recognition of community heroes. It also served as a time of reflection honoring the lives lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, including the first responders who gave their lives serving others.
“We gather today to remember, honor, and give thanks for the first responders who protect, serve, and care for our community each and every day,” said school nurse Kimberly Gandy, who emceed the program. “We appreciate your sacrifice, courage and steadfast commitment to serving our community.”
Junior high students offered remarks and led the group in prayer.
The program also included a moment of silence to remember the fallen, individual recognition of those first responders in attendance, a song by members of the Holly Springs Junior High School choir, and remarks from school, city and law enforcement leaders.
Principal Gefredia Nash gave closing remarks, and the event concluded with breakfast and fellowship.
“You should not be forgotten.”
