About 10 years ago I cut this out of a paper to keep. It says so much!
We rightfully remember them this Memorial Day. Memory binds us to them: memory is a path that leads us to the future. As a great industrious nation surrounded by oceans and non-threatening neighbors hasn't stopped us from crossing oceans with millions of our finest men & women to fight in many wars. Some never returned. We must never forget them!

Of all the stories I've ever read one sticks. It was after World War ll and a chaplain was walking the beach of that war theater early the day after a great battle. As American soldiers were being prayed over and placed in body bags a chaplain noticed an American soldier that lost his life was clinching his wrist, noticing closer he saw the soldier had placed a picture of his wife & infant child in his watch casing, over his time piece. At first the chaplain took the watch off the soldier to personally deliver it when stateside to his family but returned and placed it back on his wrist and took down his personal information to write his wife of his bravery & courage in battler for a grateful nation.

From that I've always thought that love triumphs over time. Time is something we keep. Eternity keeps no time.

God bless the American soldiers! Especially those who gave their lives - on behalf of a grateful nation!
