Do you recognize this pup? She was found roaming in the area of Cienega Road. She does not have a microchip, but did come into our care with a collar with the name "Neni" written on it. There is also a phone number written on the collar, however the numbers are worn and illegible. If you know who this dog belongs to, please contact our office at (831) 636-4320 and reference the corresponding A ID on her photograph.

A huge thank you to Babe’s Fund for their generous support of the animals in our care!
Thanks to their sponsorship, adoption fees for all cats and kittens currently at the Hollister Animal Shelter have been reduced to just $25 through June 15, 2026.

Babe's Fund continues to make a tremendous impact on the lives of shelter pets by helping remove barriers to adoption and giving more animals the opportunity to find loving, forever homes.

If you've been thinking about adding a feline friend to your family, now is the perfect time to visit us and meet the wonderful cats and kittens waiting for homes.

🐾 Come Visit Us at the Farmers Market Today! 🐾

We’re out at the Farmers Market with some of our adoptable animals, including long-term residents Koda and Capri Sun, and we’d love for you to stop by and meet them!

Koda is now just weeks away from reaching one full year at the Hollister Animal Shelter. Capri Sun is approaching seven months in our care. Both are incredible dogs who have spent far too long waiting for a family of their own.

But they’re not alone. We also have adoptable cats and kittens at the Farmers Market today who are looking for loving homes. Whether you’re searching for a walking buddy, a couch companion, or a playful feline friend, we have an animal hoping to meet you.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated reality, it’s one being faced by shelters and rescues across the country. Long-term residents are becoming increasingly common as organizations work tirelessly to care for more animals than ever before. Shelters and rescues alike need your help and support to create favorable outcomes for the animals in our community.

Please consider opening your heart and home to a shelter pet. Dogs like Koda and Capri Sun, along with our cats, kittens, and many other deserving animals, need you.

🚨 FOUND DOG 🚨

We are currently looking for the owners of the dog pictured below. He was found on May 23, 2026, in the area of Union Road and was brought to San Benito Veterinary Center for care due to the condition he was found in. He was later diagnosed with epilepsy.

If you recognize this dog or believe he may belong to you or someone you know, please contact the Hollister Animal Shelter at (831) 636-4320 as soon as possible. Proof of ownership will be required.

Please share to help reunite him with his family. 🐾

🚨 Our kennels are filling faster than we can keep up. 🚨

Today, Dude and Rico are out at the Farmer’s Market with several other adoptable dogs and kittens hoping someone finally sees them and gives them a chance.

Dude (left) has been in our care since October 2025. Month after month, he continues to wait while kennel doors open and close around him. Rico (right) is one of our newer residents, but the reality is the same — he needs a home before space becomes even more limited.

We know many surrounding shelters and rescues are full too. Transfers are becoming harder to secure, resources are stretched thin everywhere, and there simply are not enough open kennels to keep up with the number of animals needing help. This is not just happening here, it’s happening everywhere.

Many of our long-term residents are approaching nearly a YEAR in the shelter. Dogs like Dude do not deserve to spend another season growing up behind kennel walls waiting for someone to choose them.
If you have been considering adopting, fostering, or even sharing our posts, now is the time.

Every adoption opens space for another animal in need. Every share gives these animals another chance to be seen.

Please come meet our adoptable animals today from 3pm–7pm at the Farmer’s Market. They are counting on this community now more than ever. 🐾

A huge thank you to Babe’s Fund for their continued generosity and support of animals in need within our community. ❤️

Recently, Jolene experienced a medical emergency that required urgent surgery to save her life. Babe’s Fund quickly stepped in to help ensure she received the immediate veterinary care she needed, giving her the chance to recover and heal comfortably.

Their support did not stop there. Babe’s Fund also shared Jolene’s story, which directly led to her finding her forever home! We are so excited to share that Jolene has officially been adopted and will now be enjoying life in Portola Valley with her new mom. 🐾

Partnerships like this truly make a difference for the animals in our care. Thank you, Babe’s Fund, for helping us continue to provide critical medical treatment, compassionate care, and second chances to animals like Jolene.

Star found her shining moment at the Farmer’s Market ✨🐾

This sweet little kitten caught the eye of her new mom while visiting our booth, and it didn’t take long for the connection to happen. We are so excited to share that Star has officially gone home and is beginning her next adventure surrounded by love. 🩷

Community events like our Farmer’s Market booth help us connect amazing animals with amazing people, and Star’s story is the perfect example of that. Thank you to everyone who continues to support the animals in our care, stop by our booth, and help spread the word about adoption.

Happy new life, Star! 🌟🐱

Princess may have just found her perfect match! 🩷

After learning about Princess while visiting our booth at the Farmers Market, this wonderful couple decided to open their hearts and home to her through our foster-to-adopt program. They are excited to begin integrating her into their family, and if all goes well, they hope to make things official with an adoption! 🐾

Moments like these are exactly why community outreach events matter. Thank you to everyone who stops by, asks questions, and supports the animals in our care. We are wishing Princess and her new foster family the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter together! ✨
