The dump will be closed Wednesday the 15th and Thursday. We plan to be available by Friday the 17th. We have to close to be able to read water meters.

Once again this is intended for City of Hollis residents to help clean up alleys and their yards. No commercial use or trash from outside City limits will be accepted.

On December 16, 2021, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) Revised Lead and Copper Rule | US EPA, would go into effect to support development of actions to reduce lead in drinking water. The intent of the LCRR is to identify all lead service lines/pipes in communities across the nation.

Hollis PWA along with every Public Water provider in the nation was required to provide a lead service line inventory list to OK DEQ and the EPA. The results of the list had 4 results: lead, galvanized requiring replacement, non-lead, or unknown. Without digging up every private line in Hollis there is no way to know for sure what the material of your private lines consists of. We are required to send a letter to each customer stating this fact. We mailed the letters out today.

I am afraid these letters will provoke a lot of questions that we currently do not have answers for. The city is required to replace any lead lines that we uncover on our side, but private lines are the responsibility of the owner. If you are unaware of the material of your line from the water meter to your house, you can contact a plumber to uncover the line for you.
