After 27 years of service in the NYC Department of Education, as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and most recently, Superintendent of District 29, I officially retired August 15, 2025.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the D29 community. Together, over the past three years, we have seen tremendous academic growth, launched innovative programs, and expanded opportunities for our students, families, and staff. District 29 shines because of the collective dedication of our students, aa well as educators, leaders, families, and partners who always keep children at the center of the work. I will carry District 29 in my heart forever.

Wishing everyone a strong start to the 2025–2026 school year. Keep pushing forward, keep believing in what’s possible, and keep shining. The best is yet to come for District 29!

Third year for the D29 Game 24 Math Competition, with over 200 of our young people competing. They had such a great time.

Thank you to PS 135, Principal Graf and her team for hosting, to all of the D29 schools who attended and supported, to the district team and Game 24 core team for the assistance, to Dr. Lubin and Ms. D. Reid for coleading the event, and most of all, to our students for engaging and helping to make math fun.

District 29's MSK Tea Party was nothing short of AMAZING!
All of the young ladies felt happy, loved, and noticed.

A special thank you to ED Dr. Nyree Dixon, Principal Dr. Kim Hill as co- leads, the D29 District Team, PS 95 Team, all chaperones our guests Dr. Lindamichelle Baron, Dr. Debra Lamb, Dr. Yolanda Sealey Ruiz, Mrs. Michelle Donaldson, as well as Queens College for hosting us.

It was a true treat for our dynamic young lasies .

This Sunday, is a special tribute to Dr. Hazel N. Dukes,. We will reair her reading to our D29 students on the anniversary month of Selma, commemorating the 60th anniversary.

The way our students showed up and represented their schools made us all proud.
