This evening a few members teamed up with Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department Station 90 Alpha Fire Company Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue and Martinsburg Fire Company to go over some high angle rescue skills at the feed mill in Williamsburg for the monthly task force training. Crews climbed up to the top of the tower and made a haul system to bring the simulated victim to the ground. Crews also zip lined using the haul system.

*TESLA FIRE*

Monday afternoon at 12:49, station 30 and station 10 Phoenix Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 10 were dispatched for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Scotch Valley Road and Godfrey Lane. Initial report stated a single vehicle over the embankment and the vehicle was smoking. Assistant Chief 30 arrived and established command followed by engine 10 with a Tesla vehicle over the embankment well involved with fire. Crews from engine 10 and rescue 30 were able to bring the fire under control in minutes with a prolonged wet down due to it being an electric vehicle. Assistant 30 requested Duncansville FireCo tanker 20 to assist with water supply. The vehicle did reignite while it was being towed up the bank but was quickly extinguished by the crews on scene. About 2,000 gallons of water was used to completely extinguish the fire. Engine 10 escorted the towing company to their tow yard until they were intercepted by engine 314 in the city of Altoona.

*ANIMAL RESCUE*

Today at 12:24, station 30 was dispatched for an animal rescue in the 800 block of brush mountain road. Caller stated their dog was trapped under their shed endangered possibly by a groundhog. Assistant Chief 30 and Rescue 30 arrived and was met by two of our members who work for the township and we received the size up. Personnel worked together using cribbing and airbags to raise the shed. Assistant 30 requested mutual aid from Phoenix Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 10 for possible additional cribbing and manpower but the dog was able to safely extricate itself without harm prior to their arrival.
