Recently, our Murray Highway Department installed two separate historical markers in front of the Pierce-Smith Pioneer Cemetery located on Hulberton Road, just south of Route 31, on the west side of the road. Burials at this cemetery began in 1818. Revolutionary and Civil War Veterans are buried at this cemetery. There will be a dedication at this historic burial ground on May 16th, 2026 at 10:30 am. News media will be present. Hope to see you there!

Attention Murray residents... the Town of Murray offices will be CLOSED on Monday, February 16th, 2026 in observance of the Presidents Day holiday. We will re-open on Tuesday, February 17th at 9:00 am. Thank you and have a great holiday!

It's been a year in the making, but our town finally has a comprehensive handbook. After an audit in 2024, I quickly realized that Murray needed a "living" document that would help guide our town into the 21st Century. I was surprised to learn that Murray did not have any manual dealing with the many state and federal policies and procedures required by law. Going forward, our employees now have a handbook that answers questions regarding benefits, sick time, working hours and every other aspect of the employer/employee relationship. A special thanks to Elaine Berg and Cindy Oliver for all of your help through this process. It was a huge undertaking!

The Town of Murray offices will be CLOSED on Monday, January 19th, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will re-open our offices on Tuesday, January 20th at 9:00 am. Thank You!
