Today, June 5, 2026, the Holley Police Department participated in a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) Simulation at Holley High School to educate students about the devastating consequences of impaired driving.
The simulation provided a realistic portrayal of a serious motor vehicle crash caused by impaired driving, demonstrating the physical, emotional, and legal impacts that can result from a single poor decision. Students witnessed the emergency response efforts of law enforcement, fire personnel, and EMS as they worked to rescue injured victims and respond to a fatality scene.
The purpose of this event was to raise awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and to encourage students to make safe and responsible choices behind the wheel. Impaired driving continues to be a leading cause of preventable injuries and deaths on our roadways, affecting not only drivers but also passengers, families, friends, and entire communities.
The Holley Police Department would like to thank the Holley Central School District, participating emergency responders, volunteers, and students for making this educational event possible. We hope this powerful demonstration leaves a lasting impression and reinforces the importance of never driving while impaired.
Remember: One decision can change lives forever. Drive sober. Stay safe. Arrive alive.
