Station 9 was out on a propane leak last night during the storm. As you can see a tree limb broke off and broke off the valve causing propane to release. Thanks to New Madison, Liberty Twps. and New Paris coming out to supply us with water. Hometown Propane was out also as we were assessing the situation.

The Hollansburg FD along with Liberty Twps. FD and Tri-Village Rescue responded to a vehicle accident (fully involved with fire) with entrapment. Upon arrival the vehicle was fully involved with fire with the driver already out of the vehicle (thanks to a good Samaritan who pulled the driver out of the vehicle before getting consumed). Darke Co. Sheriff was also on scene. THANK YOU....To the Good Samaritan who went above and beyond to save this one's life. This act of bravery will not go unnoticed!

The Hollansburg FD is starting a tradition of honoring the past/deceased fireman that served on the Hollansburg FD on Memorial Day. If you see one of these flags in the Hollansburg Cemetery it represents their service and commitment to the community especially those who pioneered the founding/start of the department in 1894. So far there are 35 flags scattered throughout the cemetery. We know there are a lot more but not all are buried in Hollansburg. Thank You for your service!
