What Is Our Immigrant Relief Fund?
The Immigrant Relief Fund was established at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, recognizing that many immigrants in our community did not have access to the same resources and safety nets as other residents.
Through the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundations, in our first year alone we processed over 180 applications for assistance with household and legal needs, providing nearly $72,000 in direct aid to immigrants in our area.
More recently, in just the last month, we have been able to support over $7,000 in legal fees, including defense attorneys, bond assistance, and translation services. We are deeply grateful to Lakeshore Language Services, who have not only partnered with us but have stepped in on very short notice to support clients with urgent immigration appointments.
In addition, the fund has helped cover:
• Medical appointment co-pays
• Emergency cash support for individuals being released from detention
• Culturally appropriate groceries for families
The need continues to grow, and this fund remains a critical lifeline for many in our community. Please keep an eye out for an upcoming fundraiser so we can continue showing up for our immigrant neighbors with compassion, dignity, and action.

¿Qué es nuestro Fondo de Ayuda para Inmigrantes?
El Fondo de Ayuda para Inmigrantes fue creado al inicio de la pandemia de COVID-19, reconociendo que muchas personas inmigrantes en nuestra comunidad no tenían acceso a los mismos recursos y redes de apoyo que otros residentes.
Gracias al generoso apoyo de personas, corporaciones y fundaciones, durante nuestro primer año procesamos más de 180 solicitudes de ayuda para necesidades del hogar y asuntos legales, otorgando casi $72,000 en apoyo directo a inmigrantes de nuestra región.
Más recientemente, tan solo en el último mes, hemos podido cubrir más de $7,000 en gastos legales, incluyendo abogados de defensa, fianzas y servicios de traducción. Estamos profundamente agradecidos con Lakeshore Language Services LLC quienes no solo han sido aliados clave, sino que también han respondido de manera inmediata para apoyar a personas con citas urgentes de inmigración.
Además, el fondo ha ayudado a cubrir:
• Copagos de citas médicas
• Apoyo económico de emergencia para personas liberadas de detención
• Alimentos culturalmente apropiados para familias
La necesidad continúa creciendo, y este fondo sigue siendo un recurso vital para muchas familias. Próximamente compartiremos información sobre una recaudación de fondos, para que podamos seguir acompañando a nuestra comunidad inmigrante con solidaridad, dignidad y esperanza.
