Words do not come easy when it comes to describing a person like Tony. All the I’m sorry’s in the world can not ease the pain and emptiness your department is experiencing during this time. It is our job to lift your department up during this time as you were so gracious in doing for us a few years ago. It’s times like these that fire departments and personnel come together to honor a true pioneer and legend in the fire service. This week we lift up the City of Napoleon Fire and Rescue and stand along side you as we all gather to pay our final respects to Tony Druhot. It’s never goodbye, it’s just till next time.

Capping off EMS week our new Stryker LifePak 35 Cardiac Monitors and PowerPro 2 patient cots are being placed in service today.

These 2 items are Capital EMS equipment purchases that were made possible by our community support from our Levy passed in November 2024. We are grateful to be able to offer the highest level of ALS care available pre-hospital!

EMS Week 2026
"Improving Outcomes, Together"

Every year EMS Week is held to recognize 1st responders for the incredible job they do every day. This year's EMS week is extra special!! FF/Paramedic Kyle Yeager, Lt. Joshua Johnson, & Lt. John Romstadt attended The Ohio Division of EMS award ceremony in which they were presented with the EMS Star of Life Award.

This job is not about awards or accolades its simply about serving YOU, our community! If you have not had the chance to watch the video we posted last night, please take 3:06 to watch the incredible story of what brought these 1st responders to meet Cole on August 1st, 2025. The countless hours of training, the equipment we are able to carry on our ALS ambulance, and the knowledge skills and abilities of crews on scene that day saved Cole's life. THIS is what Fire/EMS is all about.

We are honored and thankful to be able to share a special moment with Cole! This story, this moment truly encompasses the mission of why our Fire Department exists. Springfield Township Fire & Rescue Department is honored to share the 2026 EMS Week "Improving Outcomes, Together" with Cole and his family, as they have become part of our family forever!
