ODC Network's Outdoor Discovery Center We advance outdoor education and conservation in West Michigan! The ODC Network is a non-profit outdoor education organization.
(711)

Through its programs, demonstration areas and interpretive exhibits, the ODC Network provides students and community members with up-close views of nature and learning opportunities about the West Michigan environment. Since 2000, the organization has served more than 120,000 children and adults through outdoor education and recreation programs. More than 70,000 people annually visit ODC sites to

walk the trails and view the wildlife. Thanks to the 2009 merger of the Outdoor Discovery Center and Macatawa Greenway Partnership the organization now protects over 1,200 acres along the Macatawa River in Ottawa County and a 130 acre nature preserve in Fillmore Township.

Check out a beautiful collection of bird artwork created by Holland Christian Middle School’s 7th grade art students!

Inspired by Audubon-style studies, students explored birds through the perspective of an artist and naturalist, practicing realistic drawing techniques, colored pencil work, watercolor, and learning about each bird’s habitat and behaviors along the way.

We’re excited to share their work with the community and celebrate the connection between art, nature, and learning! What can you learn about the birds around you?

It's Michigan Great Lakes and Fresh Water Week!

This year's theme, "Protecting the Great Lakes Sustains Us," highlights something we see every day through Project Clarity: protecting local waters helps protect the Great Lakes.

Lake Macatawa is connected to Lake Michigan, and what happens in our watershed matters. By reducing pollution, restoring habitat, and improving water quality, we're helping create a healthier future for people, wildlife, and the waters that sustain us all.

Protecting the Great Lakes starts close to home. Join us at the Macatawa Water Festival on July 18 to celebrate our watershed, explore hands-on activities, and learn how you can help protect the waters that sustain us!

What’s the best way to cool off after playing outside? Ice cream!

We’re excited to partner with for June’s Reconnection Challenge as we celebrate outdoor play all month long.

From climbing and exploring at the Haworth & Klow Family Imagination Forest to summer adventures across West Michigan, we believe some of the best memories are made outside together.

Be sure to grab a Hudsonville Ice Cream bar from the visitor center at the ODC this month and celebrate the start of summer with us!

Join us for Summer Craft Day on June 11!

In this hands-on crafting session, we’ll head outdoors to explore nature and gather inspiration from the sights, colors, and textures of the season. Then, we’ll turn those discoveries into bright, summer-themed creations to take home. Create, connect with nature, and celebrate the season together.

You made this possible.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have reached our goal for the De Witt Birds of Prey Center expansion and will begin moving this project forward later this year!

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared, and believed in this vision. Special thanks to the Schillhahn-Huskey Foundation, an anonymous donor in memory of Pamela Blevins, Haworth Helps, and Tennant Foundation for their leadership gifts.

Together, we're expanding opportunities for education, exploration, and meaningful connections with nature!

Restoring ecosystems starts with the right plants. Through an innovative partnership with Rebel Cultures, ODC Network is exploring new ways to propagate rare native species that are often difficult to grow through traditional methods.

By combining conservation expertise with cutting-edge propagation techniques, we're helping strengthen habitat restoration efforts across West Michigan and increasing the availability of native plants that support wildlife, pollinators, and healthy ecosystems.

Learn how this unique partnership is helping grow the future of restoration: https://loom.ly/_Wogxq8
