🌷Attention Tulip fans! 🌷

The annual Tulip Dig is back this weekend on Saturday, May 30 ONLY! Grab your buckets and tools and join us at Windmill Island Gardens for a 9am sharp start time to dig up tulip bulbs to take home and plant in your own gardens to enjoy next spring. Participants must bring all their own tools and buckets. Buckets must be tagged before entering the park. Bucket tags are $10 per 5-gallon bucket, limit 2 buckets per person, CASH ONLY. NO tags will be sold before 8am, and NO digging will be allowed until 9am sharp when park staff gives the signal to begin.🪏

Digging is only authorized during the Tulip Dig event and in designated locations as shown on the map. 🪏

Mark your calendars! The popular kids summer series Books & Blooms returns to Windmill Island Gardens every Monday from June 15 - August 10! Join our friends from the Herrick District Library for an interactive story time starting at 10:00am each Monday, followed by fun activities led by various community partners through 11:30am!

Books & Blooms are FREE to attend. Just mention the event at the admission booth!

Make and Takes are back at Windmill Island Gardens for the summer, and we can't wait for you to join us! Our friend Heather from The Poppy Peach, LLC will be back to walk you through creating your own custom pair off handmade wooden earrings in a variety of floral and Dutch designs on Tuesday, June 9 during Make and Takes: Handmade Earrings from 6:00pm - 7:00pm!

While the rest of our tulips begin to fade this week as tulip season comes to an end, our horticulture team will be working hard throughout the next few weeks transitioning from tulips to thousands of annual and perennial blooms all throughout the park to enjoy all summer long!

Starting Monday, May 11, we will return to our regular hours with admission sold from 9:30am to 5:00pm and our regular admission of $13 for adults, $6 for youth ages 3-15, and guests 2 and under enjoy the park free! We hope to ‘welkom’ you soon!

Planning for Mother’s Day weekend? With about 50% of our tulips holding color, there’s plenty of beauty to be seen!🌷🌸

Recognizing that peak color has passed, we’re dropping admission to $15 for adults and $7 for kids this weekend. Admission includes our gardens, the windmill, the street organ, kid’s carousel and more.

If you are visiting us on Saturday, May 9 or Sunday, May 10 and plan on walking to the island from downtown, we invite you to use our FREE shuttle to save a ½ mile walk to our ticket booth! The shuttle will be located at the park entrance on weekends only beginning at 10:30 am (as seen on the map pictured).🌷

Please note, the last shuttle to go to the ticket booth will be at 5:15 pm, and the last shuttle to bring you back to the entrance will be 7:00 pm.

And as always, you are welcome to take as many photos as you’d like, but please leave our flowers as you found them so everyone can enjoy them!🌷📸

Windmill Island Gardens is open and our staff is ready to ‘welkom’ you to the park! Find color all throughout the park, enjoy all our Dutch attractions, and more! Admission is sold through 6pm with attractions closing by 7pm.

So, you're not one of the 50,000 guests who've visited us so far? Lucky for you, tulips are a hardy flower!

We're still seeing good color in the majority of our varieties. Cool weather will help them hold on but we'd recommend visiting as soon as possible to see the most blooms. (photos from 5/5)
