Underwater Hockey at Holland Aquatic Center We are a local club that meets once a week September through March at the Holland Aquatic Center and have a ton of fun at the bottom of a 7 foot pool.

We are a fun Coed group of people ranging in age from 14 to 55 that get together every Monday to play Underwater Hockey. If you want to know more about the sport, the "Underwater Hockey" page tells a very good history as well as how to play. We would love to have you join us and give it a try.

I’m not sure how many still follow this page since we haven’t played since 2017. Some of you will remember Nick Hobson who took our group to the next level of play. He thought us strategy and game play. He had some amazing swimming skill and puck work. It saddens me to inform you that he has passed away. I don’t know any details beyond that.

So, here's the long awaited situation. The aquatic center won't be having underwater hockey as an official aquatic center activity anymore. Tom is checking to see whether we could be our own independent club, carry our own insurance accord (which he says runs $60-$100 for the year to cover the entire club) then rent time and space from the aquatic center. He should know if that is an option within the next week. In the mean time, I'll try calling other pools in the area to see if they would be willing to host us. If anyone has any connections with area pools and would like to contact them yourselves let me know. We can take all our equipment from the aquatic center if we find a different place to play. Everybody keep your fingers crossed.

So next Monday, December 7th was supposed to be our last hockey night before Christmas break. It turns out we cannot play next Monday because it is a fitness open house.

On the bright side, we will play on Tuesday the 8th instead from 7:30-8:45 AND get a bonus week on Monday the 14th from 7:30-8:45.

If you wouldn't mind, please either "like" or comment on this post so that I can know that you got it, otherwise I will probably try to hunt you down some other way to make sure you know the plan.

Guys, as mentioned tonight, the Chicago team have invited us to play in their tournament on the 7th and 8th of November. It's a little last minute and my fault as I haven't been on FB for a few weeks.
Depending on kids and tournament schedule I'm thinking of going round for one of the days if anyone wants to ride with me. They said they could find teams for anyone who wants a game.

Next seasons underwater hockey is just around the corner, Tom is lining up Monday September 21st for our first session back, same time same place.
He gave Grace and I a call this evening to see if we're all good with the same time slot for next season.
All those in favour respond in the affirmative and anyone with suggestions for new days/times let Grace or I know and we'll negotiate with Tom.
