On behalf of the Holiday Lakes Police Department, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences as you mourn the loss of one of your own.

We know that behind every badge is a family—both at home and in uniform. When one of us falls, we all feel it. Yesterday, we didn’t just lose a fellow officer; we lost a brother. And with heavy hearts, we stand shoulder to shoulder with you, grieving this unimaginable loss.

To the family, friends, and fellow officers: please know that you are not alone. We lift you up in prayer and surround you with strength, unity, and unwavering support. Your pain is ours. Your loss is shared. And your fallen officer will never be forgotten.

In this profession, we are bonded by more than a job—we are a family. And in times like these, that family stands stronger than ever.

With honor, respect, and solidarity,
Holiday Lakes Police Department

🚨 HOUSTON AIN’T CHARMING—AND YOU’RE NOT JAX TELLER 🚨

For six years, the Bandidos and B*EAST gangs tried to turn Houston into their own Sons of Anarchy turf war. But Texas law enforcement aren’t Unser, and this ain’t a TV show.

💥 14 Bandidos just got hit with RICO and murder charges—the first RICO case in SDTX in over 12 years. Huge credit to FBI - Houston, Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff's Office for putting an end to this lawless rampage.

If you thought Texas was your playground for violence, consider this your series finale.

🔗 Full list of arrests and charges:

1️⃣ John M. Pfeffer (“Big John”), 32 – Katy, TX
2️⃣ Darvi Hinojosa (“10 Round”), 35 – Katy, TX
3️⃣ Bradley Rickenbacker (“Dolla Bill”), 37 – Katy, TX
4️⃣ Michael H. Dunphy (“Money Mike”), 57 – Cleveland, TX
5️⃣ Christopher Sanchez (“Monster”), 40 – Tomball, TX
6️⃣ Brandon K. Hantz (“Loco/Gun Drop”), 33 – Crosby, TX
7️⃣ David Vargas (“Brake Check/First Time”), 33 – Houston, TX
8️⃣ Marky Baker (“Pinche Guero/Guero”), 40 – Houston, TX
9️⃣ Ronnie McCabe (“Meathead”), 56 – Houston, TX
🔟 Jeremy Cox (“JD”), 37 – Houston, TX
1️⃣1️⃣ Roy Gomez (“Repo”), 50 – Richmond, TX
1️⃣2️⃣ Marcel Lett, 56 – Pearland, TX
1️⃣3️⃣ John Sblendorio (“Tech9”), 54 – Houston, TX
1️⃣4️⃣ Sean G. Christison (“Skinman”), 30 – Katy, TX

These suspects face serious federal charges, including RICO violations, murder, attempted murder, assault, arson, and drug trafficking. Some face life in prison—or worse.

Texas law enforcement will always take down those who think they’re above the law.

We are deeply saddened to share the loss of Deputy Jesus Vargas, who faithfully served the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years. Deputy Vargas was shot and killed in the line of duty. He was a dedicated public servant, known for his integrity, compassion, and commitment to our community.

He was more than a team member—he was a friend, mentor, and inspiration to everyone who knew him. His professionalism and kind nature left a lasting impact on our office and the residents he served.

Our hearts go out to Deputy Vargas’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We also stand with our Sheriff’s Office family as we grieve this loss together.

We would like to thank HPD for pursuing this investigation for the suspect in this heinous act. We will release information on this page regarding memorial and remembrance services.

Deputy Vargas’s service and the positive impact he made in Brazoria County will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed.
