Happy Monday, Holden!

If you live or have property in the Commercial Zone north of the RR tracks (roughly the east side of Pine to the west side of Zoll; and from the north side of Elizabeth to the south side of Pacific), then there is an planned hearing on June 30th at 6 pm to discuss changing the zone from Commercial to R-2. The public is welcome to attend. If you are happy with the change, then no need to do anything. The projected effective date will be 8/1/2026 if City Council approves the change in July.

Recently, the City of Holden conducted a land-use study, and found out most of the properties are being used as residential, so the new zoning will reflect current use. IF YOU WISH TO REMAIN COMMERCIAL, THEN PLEASE EMAIL [email protected] to request to remain commercial.

Property owners in that area should receive a letter in the mail and this notice will be published in the The Holden Image . Please watch for the notices.

Announcements:

If you need a small area (without a kitchen) for meetings, events, parties, etc., then consider the Holden City Hall's small conference room. It's about 20'x30x and rents for $50/day with a $50 deposit that you will get returned if it is left clean. Call City Hall M-F from 8:00 - 4:30 pm at 816-732-4811 if you'd like to reserve it.

Also, the City is now opening the City Lot at the corner of 3rd and Market if anyone wants to host a Vendor Fair, Art Fair, Flea Market, Pop-Up Market or similar event. It is $50/day with a $50 Deposit as well. One person would have to be in charge, and would need to acquire event insurance and sign an agreement with the city. The organizer can then determine their own booth rental price to cover the costs to host. Call City Hall at 816-732-4811 to reserve the lot. No electricity or other services are provided.

Hallar Hall is still available for rental:
• $75 for 4 hours
• $25 each additional hour
• $100 refundable deposit required
• $275 for 12+ hours per day

City Hall is open M-F from 8:00 - 4:30 pm.
