Yesterday, members of Holden and Eddington Fire Departments were honored to cover the Town of Lincolnville while their crews paid respects to fallen firefighter Andrew Cross.

Our thoughts remain with FF Cross’s family, friends, and the entire Lincolnville Fire Department during this difficult time. Brotherhood and service extend far beyond town lines.

Shortly after 10pm last night , Holden and Eddington fire were called for a building fire on Main Rd in Holden. On scene crews found smoke throughout the building and upgraded to a 2nd alarm for a working fire. The fire was quickly brought under control and 2 subjects were evaluated by EMS who were in the home at the time of the fire. Fire cause was a dryer fire that spread to nearby cardboard materials. Thank you to our mutual aid partners for assistance, Eddington Fire, Dedham Fire, Brewer Fire, Orrington Fire, and Hampden Fire. Also thank you to Holden Pd for their assistance with traffic control.

Interesting note to share, this time of year with breezy conditions and dry air, wildfire danger creeps up very quickly. Wednesday morning we had some light snow in the grass, by 4pm the grassy fuels in the fields were already dry enough to burn. Becareful burning this spring, these fires can easily spread. Crews last night conducted a prescribed burn on Levenseller Road and it went very well.

**Road open , crews cleared, traffic backed up**

Holden near box 668 Main rd is down to 1 lane of traffic due to an accident. Wreckers on scene will close the road for a period of time.
