CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CRYSTAL APPLE SEMI-FINALISTS!
We are excited to announce that this year Holcomb has three educators named as semi-finalists for the Crystal Apple Award:
⭐ Brianna Boller
⭐ Alayna Addison
⭐ Tregg Rodriguez
What is the Crystal Apple Award?
According to Mr. Sullivan, the Crystal Apple Award recognizes top educators in Finney County. Anyone in the community can nominate a teacher, and this year, Holcomb was proud to have 16 nominees!
From the nominees, the Garden City Chamber of Commerce committee reviews applications to select 12 semi-finalists. Next, the committee interviews these semi-finalists to choose six finalists. The six finalists complete multiple classroom observations, and three of those finalists will be honored with the Crystal Apple Award!
We interviewed each of Holcomb's semi-finalists:
🍎 Mrs. Addison (12th year teaching): Mrs. Addison has known that she wanted to be a teacher since the 3rd grade. The reason she started teaching was to make a difference with kids!
🍎 Mr. Rodriguez (5th year teaching): Mr Rodriguez became a teacher to help mold youth. He got into coaching and now wants to be a head basketball coach. He believes that teaching is the best route to get to that point!
🍎 Mrs. Boller (13th year teaching): Mrs. Boller got into teaching because after high school she knew she wanted to help other people, and thought teaching would be the best way to accomplish that!
