The Library District works with the 14 public libraries in Navajo County to improve and expand library services and materials for the citizens of Navajo County. The Library District maintains an Online Catalog through which library users can search for, reserve, and renew items from all libraries' holdings. Library users may also have library materials brought to to their closest library for check

out. Suggestions for new materials and questions may be sent to library staff via the Contact Us section. The Library District maintains rotating collections of audiobooks, DVDs, large print books, and comics and graphic novels to provide additional variety and new materials in Navajo County's public libraries. For library card holders, the Navajo County Library District website provides access to:

Downloadable eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines, accessible from computers or handheld devices. Databases, which enable users to search for journal articles, find current medical information, learn foreign languages, and much more. Other useful webpages, including an extensive Jobs and Careers page, which lists many Navajo County employers and provides a wealth of resources for jobseekers and entrepreneurs.

What lies beneath the surface? This summer, we’re inviting writers across Arizona to dig deep and discover the stories waiting below.

“Unearth A Story” challenges you to explore hidden worlds beneath our feet—places filled with mystery, wonder, and the unexpected. Whether your imagination drifts toward sci-fi adventures or magical fantasy realms, this is your chance to create a tale of discovery that breaks beyond the ordinary. Let your creativity shine as you uncover something extraordinary beneath the ground we walk on every day.

📝 Who can participate?
Anyone of any age living in the state of Arizona is welcome to join!

📅 Contest Dates:
Begins: May 26, 2026
Ends: June 26, 2026

🏆 Winners will be notified in July 2026.
