We want to thank our neighboring fire departments, local and neighboring law enforcement, community buisnesses, and community members who all stepped in to assist. You may have heard the tornado sirens being tested for the first Wednesday of the month.

You'll hear them again Thursday April 7, 2022 at 1:45pm and 6:45pm according to the Houston County Emergency Management team.

Please advise your relatives who aren't on Facebook so they understand the double dose of sirens this week.

Thank you!

The Wisconsin State Patrol wants to remind drivers of the importance of moving over whenever they see emergency vehicles on roadways.

LCPD cares about kids. We know you do, too.

We have had numerous complaints of drivers not stopping for school buses. πŸ›‘

:: Drivers must stop 20 feet from a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop-arm extended.

:: Stop arm violators can face a fine. Criminal charges are possible if a driver goes around the stop arm and a child is off the bus.

:: The fines and charges increase if a driver passes the bus on the right-hand side.

If the road is a divided highway, drivers in opposing traffic don’t have to stop for the buses.

Thank you for slowing down, leaving early to drive cautiously, and keeping La Crescent safe.
