Awesome job to our new probationary firefighters and crew members that got to go to work in the burn tower!
We love to do trainings like this to simulate real fire conditions. Getting to work on communications and hose deployment are just a small fraction of what we do on scene, but always good to get repetition.

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department is offering a Heartsaver CPR/AED course on Wednesday, May 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hoffman Estates Fire Station #24, 5775 Beacon Pointe Dr.

The course is intended for those with little to no medical training who want to learn CPR and AED use. Participants will learn when to phone 9-1-1, how to administer CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to provide relief from choking. The cost of the course is $50 per person.

Pre-registration is required; class sizes are limited. Call the Hoffman Estates Fire Department Administration Office at 847-843-4825 to register. Registration deadline is May 13.
