The Fourth of July Parade returns along Illinois Boulevard on Saturday, July 4 stepping off at 9 a.m. This year’s theme is “Celebrating 250 Years, From Sea to Shining Sea.”

The Grand Marshal of the parade this year is retiring Deputy Village Manager Dan O'Malley, a 28-year employee of the Village and long-time liaison to the Fourth of July Commission.

Nonperishable food and monetary donations will be accepted by the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry float.

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department is offering a Heartsaver CPR/AED course on Saturday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hoffman Estates Fire Station #24, 5775 Beacon Pointe Dr.

The course is intended for those with little to no medical training who want to learn CPR and AED use. Participants will learn when to phone 9-1-1, how to administer CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to provide relief from choking. The cost of the course is $50 per person.

Pre-registration is required; class sizes are limited. Call the Hoffman Estates Fire Department Administration Office at 847-843-4825 to register. Registration deadline is June 19.
