During the June 15 Village Board meeting, we recognized Public Works Streets Superintendent Kevin McGraw for his 20th anniversary with the Village and declared Friday, June 19 Kevin McGraw Day in the Village of Hoffman Estates. Congratulations to Kevin on this milestone anniversary!

We were very happy to help the Hoffman Estates Park District open Vogelei Park on Kids to Parks Day on Saturday with a proclamation.

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Kids to Parks Day than by officially opening Vogelei Park! 🌳✨ A huge thank you to Mayor Bill McLeod for reading the official proclamation, as well as the trustees from the Village of Hoffman Estates Government and our Board of Commissioners who joined us to help unveil this beautiful new space for our community. We appreciate everyone’s continued support in making projects like this happen! ☀️

The Village Board recognized Jewish American Heritage Month with a proclamation during the Village Board meeting on May 4. Members from the Beth Tikvah Congregation accepted the proclamation, which was made to honor the many contributions that those of Jewish heritage have made to our country and our community.

During the April 20, 2026 Village Board meeting, Hoffman Estates Police Department Officers Kyle Adlon, Clayton Johnston and Leon Spears were recognized with Life Saving Awards.

A 9-1-1 call came in on March 11 for a car almost completely submerged in a retention pond near the NOW Arena. Officers Adlon, Johnston and Spears were the first to respond. It appeared that there was a passenger outside of the vehicle in the pond, but possibly another passenger still in the submerged vehicle. Without hesitation, the officers swam through the water, extracted the woman from the submerged vehicle, brought her to shore and provided life-saving CPR measures until paramedics arrived. The rescued woman regained a pulse and the ability breathe on her own. Because of their efforts, she is alive and well today. Her husband and her uncle were in attendance at the meeting.

We sincerely applaud the quick and selfless actions that Officers Adlon, Johnston and Spears took to save this woman’s life.
