During the August 3 Village Board Meeting, we recognized recent Conant High School graduate Daisha Brunson for her outstanding accomplishments as a student athlete. Daisha has been recognized as one of the most accomplished student athletes in Track & Field, as a four-time IHSA Class 3A State Champion in the 100 meter hurdles. Daisha is the first student in IHSA Track & Field history to win four consecutive state titles in the same event and will be attending the University of Michigan this fall on a full scholarship.

Today, August 4, has been declared Daisha Brunson Day in the Village of Hoffman Estates. Congratulations to Daisha on these accomplishments!

Trustees Stanton and Pilafas joined me and members of the Village's Sister City Commission last week as we visited our Sister City, Angoulême, in France. We participated in a twinning ceremony at City Hall, recommitting our Sister City bond and friendship with Angoulême.

During the June 15 Village Board meeting, we recognized Public Works Streets Superintendent Kevin McGraw for his 20th anniversary with the Village and declared Friday, June 19 Kevin McGraw Day in the Village of Hoffman Estates. Congratulations to Kevin on this milestone anniversary!

We were very happy to help the Hoffman Estates Park District open Vogelei Park on Kids to Parks Day on Saturday with a proclamation.

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Kids to Parks Day than by officially opening Vogelei Park! 🌳✨ A huge thank you to Mayor Bill McLeod for reading the official proclamation, as well as the trustees from the Village of Hoffman Estates Government and our Board of Commissioners who joined us to help unveil this beautiful new space for our community. We appreciate everyone’s continued support in making projects like this happen! ☀️

The Village Board recognized Jewish American Heritage Month with a proclamation during the Village Board meeting on May 4. Members from the Beth Tikvah Congregation accepted the proclamation, which was made to honor the many contributions that those of Jewish heritage have made to our country and our community.
